The RPC accepts requests from any origin (CORS is open), so browser apps can call it directly. The node holds no keys: sign transactions client-side and send them with eth_sendRawTransaction.
Blocks and finality#
QBFT finalises a block as soon as it is produced. A transaction that appears in a block is final: there are no reorganisations, so one confirmation is enough and you do not need a confirmation counter.
When the network is idle the validator produces empty blocks less often (roughly one a minute), so the head block can be up to a minute old without anything being wrong. Blocks return to every 2 seconds as soon as there are transactions.
Single validator
The Testnet currently runs one validator. If it stops, block production stops until it is restarted. Build retries and backoff into anything that talks to the chain.Check your connection#
